I tried to use GIMP to make a very basic site icon (see below), but it lacks very basic functionality that I would expect from a drawing program: the ability to see and set the position of an object using numbers. Mouse movements are not precise, and my brain likes to do the detail work with numbers.
I checked a few sources, and there seems to be no way to do this. An AI system suggested I use “Script Fu” which a) should not be necessary, and b) did not work on my computer.
I gave up and used a program on my Mac. It worked, as would many other solutions.
